Immediate Action - Rapid Deployment to

Active Shooters ©

 

 

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVE:

 

The objective of this course is to provide the student with the theory, concepts, principles and tactics for the safe resolution of active shooter type incidents.

 

 

 

CONTENT:

 

  • Historical and contemporary active shooter type incidents are examined and discussed.

 

  • The "tactical combat fighting mindset" is examined and discussed.

 

  • The definition, theory, principles and considerations of "Immediate Action - Rapid Deployment to Active Shooters" are examined and discussed.

 

  • Law enforcement management, philosophy, theory and politics, relative to high risk police incidents, are examined and discussed.

 

  • Areas of training, assessment and equipment requirements are examined and discussed.

 

  • Tactics, concepts and principles for formations, movement, clearing and contact are provided, examined and discussed.

 

  • The Incident Command System is examined and discussed.

 

  • Crime scene considerations are examined and discussed.

 

  • Inter-agency operations are examined and discussed.

 

  • Legal considerations are examined and discussed.

 

  • The aftermath of an active shooter type incident, relative to the responding law enforcement agencies and personnel, and the affected families and community is examined and discussed.

 

  • A practical proficiency assessment is established and conducted.

 

 

 

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

 

The student is required to successfully complete course work, research project, and final assessment for certification by the USTRMC.

 

 

 

LENGTH OF COURSE:

 

The course is sixteen (16) hours.

 

 

 

COST OF COURSE:

 

The cost of this course is $100.00 (one hundred dollars).
