Safe Emergency Driving ©



LEARNING OBJECTIVE:

 

The objective of this course is to provide the student with the theory, concepts, physics, principles and tactics for the safe operation of a motor vehicle.

 

 

 

CONTENT:

 

  • Vehicle maintenance is examined and discussed.

 

  • Laws of physical motion are examined and discussed.

 

  • General vehicle laws are examined and discussed.

 

  • Accelerating, braking and steering actions are examined and discussed.

 

  • Recognizing, identifying, avoiding and mitigating driving and highway hazards are examined and discussed.

 

  • Safe driving speeds and distances in daytime, nighttime and weather conditions are examined and discussed.

 

  • Duties at an accident site are examined and discussed.

 

  • Safety restraint systems, airbags and occupant positioning are examined and discussed.

 

  • Reactions are examined and discussed.

 

  • Attention and distractions are examined and discussed.

 

  • The effect and impact of drunk and drugged driving is examined and discussed.

 

  • Capabilities and limitations of vehicle performance are examined and discussed.

 

  • Emergency driving is examined and discussed.

 

 

 

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

 

The student is required to successfully complete course work, research project, and final assessment for certification by the USTRMC.

 

 

 

LENGTH OF COURSE:

 

This course is eight (8) hours.

 

 

 

COST OF COURSE:

 

The cost of this course is $50.00 (fifty dollars).
