LEARNING OBJECTIVE:

 

The learning objective of this course is to provide the student with the theory, concepts, principles, procedures and information for the establishment, provision and maintenance of a multi-jurisdictional police SWAT Team for high risk incident resolution, and to provide the student with the information for the command and control of a police SWAT incident.

 

 

 

CONTENT:

 

  • The theory and philosophy of the Chief Executive Officers of the participating law enforcement agencies, and the culture of the organizations are examined and discussed.

 

  • The SWAT selection process is established, examined and discussed.

 

  • Areas, frequency and intensity of training are examined and discussed.

 

  • Weapons systems are examined and discussed.

 

  • Protective equipment is examined and discussed.

 

  • Chemical agents, distraction devices, and other less lethal capabilities are examined and discussed.

 

  • Teamwork is examined and discussed.

 

  • Leadership is examined and discussed.

 

  • Supervision, management and administration of a SWAT Team is examined and discussed.

 

  • Operations orders are examined and discussed.

 

  • Law enforcement operational concerns are examined and discussed.

 

  • SWAT policies, procedures and protocols are established, examined and discussed.

 

  • Command and control of police SWAT incidents is examined and discussed.

 

  • Costs are projected, examined and discussed.

 

 

 

LENGTH OF COURSE:

 

This course is eight (8) hours.

 

 

 

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

 

The student is required to successfully complete course work, research project, and final assessment for certification by the USTRMC.

 

 

 

COST OF COURSE:

 

The cost of this course is $50.00 (fifty dollars).
