LEARNING OBJECTIVE:
The learning objective of this course is to provide the student with the theory, concepts, principles, procedures and information for the establishment, provision and maintenance of a multi-jurisdictional police SWAT Team for high risk incident resolution, and to provide the student with the information for the command and control of a police SWAT incident.
CONTENT:
- The theory and philosophy of the Chief Executive Officers of the participating law enforcement agencies, and the culture of the organizations are examined and discussed.
- The SWAT selection process is established, examined and discussed.
- Areas, frequency and intensity of training are examined and discussed.
- Weapons systems are examined and discussed.
LENGTH OF COURSE:
This course is eight (8) hours.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
The student is required to successfully complete course work, research project, and final assessment for certification by the USTRMC.
